June 6 there will be Pep Rally in front of SPHS.We will meet around noon. Media will be contacted so that they can attend and show the citizens that we still want SPHS to stand tall.BISD still have to answer questions to meet the promises they have told us they will do.
Got word that Lamar will let us keep our memorabiliaia items in their library.
Have gotten emails saying they will attend Pep Rally.We should have a good crowd.Hope to see you there.
You know what we can slide down the fire escape for the last time on June 6.Don't miss the chance.See you then

I was always chicken--never even tried to slide--what could who do to us now!!?? Let's get in line FOLKS!!If their gonna take US OUT--let's go down sliding!!

It was the summer of '63... I had a new Stingray bicycle with butterfly handlebars & a banana seat. I looked to the top of that 3-story trough of steel on the Virginia street side & said "I can do that". With my trusted rope, I pulled my bike to the top, postured myself & with brakes applied I made it down without incidence. I then surmised it would be a piece of cake to make a successful trip down the split fire escape with no brakes. With nerves of steel I trekked up with rope in tow and negotiated my trusted ride to the top. With no regrets, I threw caution to the wind and thrust myself forward… let’s see, if memory serves me, I woke up some 4 hours later, not knowing how I got home, with a hell of knot on the side of my head and abrasions where I didn’t know skin grew.
Its a wonder you survived.But remember GREENIES are stuff.
