When we get Dr. Thomas to sign off of the building we will have to come up with about $ 1500.00 for fees, etc .

Bake sale! laugh If those who signed the petitions just donated 50cents it would pay for it. I imagine there are those who can donate more... if it goes through then it might be time to set up a 501c3 so people can donate to further the actions.

Don't start taking up collections or having fund raisers just yet. There is a whole lot more to involved. The application we received was for the Historical Landmark. It is quite involved and requies a certain amount of expertise to wade through the red tape. Besides, there is a very short time window to apply. It would be best for the new owners of the building to do this since grants, etc, will be available to them. This year's application deadline is January 15, '08, which it will not be possible to meet that deadlince since it has not been determined what function the building will serve yet. So, breathe easy for now.
