Hello classmates! Do you remember Mrs. McLaughlin who taught 2nd grade, who was always dressed so nice and wore house shoes in the classroom? She is 82 and fell/broke her hip. I saw her about 3 weeks ago(she lives in Athens) and she was recovering from a fall. She has fallen again and is now in a nursing home rehab place. She has the early signs of dementia however she does recognize you. Please send her a get well card as she would love to hear from you. Her address is: Mrs. Linda McLaughlin C/O South Place Nursing Center 150 Gibson Road Athens,Texas 75751 Hope all is well with everyone and that you had a great holiday! Be safe.
Patricia

I see Mrs Ruff's husband passed away about two weeks ago in IN. I think her address is here in the posts somewhere if anyone wanted to send her a card. She's Mrs. Holt now.

I never liked this teacher. She would grab my arm and dig her long fingernails into my arm and put me in the hall and call me a pill. She was a horrible mean teacher. I will never forget her.

God bless you Ms. McLaughlin. Linda McLaughlin was my very first ever school teacher.....kindergarten. She was a wonderful teacher. I remember her as being very pretty and petite. She would always have some brightly colored cartoon characters (like Tom & Jerry) posted on her schoolroom walls. I vividly remember learning to recite the Pledge of Allegiance in her 1959 class to a flag with 48 stars as Alaska and Hawaii were added that year and L.R. Pietzsch Elementary hadn't yet updated their classrooms to the new 50 star flag. Thanks for the memories Ms. McLaughlin. You are very special in my life.
